Belgium-based midfielder Elisha Owusu made his debut for Ghana on Tuesday evening in Abuja at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium as Ghana booked World Cup berth.
The 24-year-old was a second half substitute as he came on to replace Baba Iddrisu at the start of the second period of the match.
He played a decent game for the Stars as he came on to stabilize Ghana’s midfield when they were under severe pressure from Nigeria.
He plays for KAA Gent in the Belgium Jupiler Pro League and could be playing his first ever world cup tournament in November this year in Qatar.
Owusu gave a very good account for himself and justified his inclusion in the team with a decent display.
The game ended 1-1 and Ghana booked their place on the away goal rule.
