Four goalkeepers have been shortlisted for the Goalkeeper of the Month award for February 2026 in the Ghana Premier League, following a series of outstanding performances between the posts. The nominees, chosen by the Ex-Goalkeepers Union, include Benjamin Asare of Hearts of Oak, Emmanuel Kobi of Bibiani Gold Stars, Zakari Musah of FC Samartex 1996, and Prince Osei of Aduana FC.

Benjamin Asare, the Black Stars goalkeeper representing Hearts of Oak, was in excellent form during February. Featuring in two matches, he managed to keep two clean sheets, helping his side secure one win and one draw.

His performances highlighted his shot-stopping abilities, composure under pressure, and command of the defensive line, cementing his reputation as one of the league’s top goalkeepers.

Emmanuel Kobi of Bibiani Gold Stars also made a strong case for the award. Over the course of three matches, he kept two clean sheets, contributing significantly to his team’s flawless record for the month, winning all three games while conceding only a single goal. Kobi’s consistency and ability to organize his defence were key factors in Bibiani Gold Stars’ success in February.

At FC Samartex 1996, Zakari Musah delivered notable performances, registering two clean sheets and conceding just once in three matches. Despite his side recording two draws and one defeat, Musah’s individual performances stood out, showing sharp reflexes and resilience even in challenging match situations.

Prince Osei of Aduana FC also impressed during the month. Playing in three matches, he kept two clean sheets and conceded only one goal, helping his side maintain an unbeaten defensive record, albeit through three draws. His consistency and leadership in goal demonstrated his value to the team and the league.

The winner of the Goalkeeper of the Month award will receive a special package from the Ex-Goalkeepers Union, which includes a branded towel, water bottles, and a T-shirt. The award aims to recognize individual excellence and reward goalkeepers who have made significant contributions to their teams during the month.

With four highly competent nominees, the February award promises a close contest, showcasing the depth of goalkeeping talent in the Ghana Premier League. Each of the shortlisted players has demonstrated exceptional shot-stopping ability, composure, and influence on their respective teams’ performances, making the decision for the award both exciting and competitive.
