Manchester United has secured the signature of Slovenian striker Benjamin Šeško from RB Leipzig in a deal reportedly worth €85 million, including add-ons.

The 22-year-old has signed a five-year contract, making him the first Slovenian to represent the club. Šeško’s arrival is seen as a significant step in United’s quest to bolster their attacking options.

Early Life and Career

Born on May 31, 2003, in Radeče, Slovenia, Šeško began his football journey at local clubs before joining Domžale’s youth academy. His potential was evident early on, leading to a move to Red Bull Salzburg in 2019. He was loaned to FC Liefering, Salzburg’s reserve team, where he showcased his scoring prowess with 22 goals in 44 appearances. Upon returning to Salzburg, Šeško continued to impress, contributing significantly to the team’s successes.

Rise at RB Leipzig

In 2023, Šeško made a high-profile move to RB Leipzig. Over two seasons, he scored 39 goals in 87 appearances across all competitions, establishing himself as one of Europe’s most promising young strikers. His performances caught the attention of top clubs, culminating in his transfer to Manchester United.

International Career

Šeško’s international debut for Slovenia came in 2021, making him the youngest player to represent his country at that time. Since then, he has earned 41 caps and scored 16 goals, becoming a key figure in Slovenia’s national team.

Playing Style

Standing at 1.95 meters (6’5″), Šeško combines physical presence with technical skill. He is known for his aerial ability, hold-up play, and clinical finishing. His versatility allows him to operate both as a central striker and in wider attacking roles, making him a valuable asset in various tactical setups.

Personal Life

Off the pitch, Šeško is in a relationship with Anita Vidović, who is five years his senior. While he maintains a relatively private personal life, his commitment to both his career and personal relationships is evident.

Net Worth

As of 2025, Šeško’s estimated net worth ranges between €4 and €6 million, primarily derived from his football earnings and endorsements. With his recent transfer to Manchester United, this figure is expected to grow substantially in the coming years.

Looking Ahead

With his move to Manchester United, Šeško is poised to make a significant impact in the Premier League. His blend of youth, talent, and experience positions him as a central figure in United’s attacking plans.
