Berekum Chelsea star Kwesi Sorotu returns to Ghana to complete work permit ahead of Bologna move

Ghanaian teenage midfielder Kwesi Sorotu Badori has returned home to complete work permit formalities after securing a move to Italian Serie A side Bologna from Berekum Chelsea.

The 18-year-old finalized the transfer during the winter window, signing for the remainder of the 2025/26 season. However, his immediate entry into Bologna’s youth setup has been delayed as he resolves the necessary documentation required to play professionally in Italy.

Bologna confirmed the signing as part of their ongoing strategy to invest in promising young talents, with the agreement including an option to make the move permanent should Badori impress during his initial stint. Club officials are expected to monitor his progress closely once he rejoins their development program.

Badori earned the move on the back of consistent displays in the Ghana Premier League, where his technical ability, composure, and maturity in midfield drew attention from European scouts. This season, he has made 14 league appearances, scoring two goals, an improvement on his debut campaign in which he netted once in 29 matches.

His performances reportedly attracted interest from several European sides, including Swiss club FC Basel and teams from Denmark, before Bologna secured his signature.

Once the work permit is approved, Badori is expected to return to Italy to begin adapting to Bologna’s system and continue his pursuit of a breakthrough in European football.
