Ghanaian forward Bernard Tekpetey has added another league title to his collection after FC Ludogorets Razgrad were crowned champions of the Bulgarian top flight once again.
Despite spending much of the season sidelined with an anterior cruciate ligament injury, the 27-year-old celebrated as his team secured the title following a crucial victory over Cherno More in the Championship playoffs.
This latest success marks Tekpetey’s fifth consecutive league title with Ludogorets and his ninth overall trophy since joining the club. His consistent presence during the team’s dominant era has made him a key figure in their continued success.
In the decisive match, Olivier Verdon put Ludogorets ahead just before the break, and Swiss-born Ghanaian forward Kwadwo Duah added a second to confirm the win and seal the championship.
Tekpetey, a former Schalke 04 winger, is expected to rejoin his teammates at the Ludogorets Arena on Saturday as they celebrate their latest achievement ahead of their clash with Levski.
Although injuries limited his involvement this season, he still managed to feature in seven matches across all competitions, scoring twice. As he works toward full recovery, Tekpetey is set to play a more prominent role in the club’s plans for next season.
