Despite being down to ten men, Medeama SC put on an impressive performance to secure a 2-0 victory against Legon Cities FC on Sunday afternoon.
The defending league champions faced off against the Royals in a Week 9 clash of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season. The match took place at the El Wak Stadium.
In the 38th minute of the game, Medeama SC was reduced to 10 players when Godknows Dzakpasu received a red card after accumulating two yellow cards.
However, the visiting team displayed great resilience, playing cohesively as a unit to upset the hosts.
Just before halftime, Mamudu Kamaradin netted a goal in added time, giving Medeama SC the lead.
In the second half, the league champions executed a successful counter-attack, with Kofi Asmah scoring in the 59th minute.
Although Legon Cities had their moments, they couldn’t find the target and ultimately suffered a 2-0 defeat after 90 minutes.
