Franklin Akumatey, the referee for the Ghana Premier League game between Kotoko and Bibiani Gold Stars on Monday, has apologized for a controversial penalty decision he made against Kotoko.
Steven Mukwala scored for the Porcupine Warriors but Bibiani equalised thanks to a penalty decision given for them.
The referee was criticised by Ghanaians and has now come out to apologize for making that decision.
“I’m very sorry to all Kotoko people. It’s a human error. I needed help and I wished I had VAR,” he stated on Kessben.
Kotoko are currently third on the Ghana Premier League.
