Bibiani Goldstars coach Frimpong Manso has set an ambitious goal for his team in the MTN FA Cup, targeting a spot in the semifinals of the competition.

Manso’s confidence comes off the back of his team’s strong performance in the Round of 64, where they eliminated defending Ghana Premier League champions, FC Samartex, to advance to the Round of 32.

Despite the challenges ahead, Manso remains optimistic about his team’s chances. “It is our hope to reach the semifinals, but it will be difficult,” he said, acknowledging the tough road ahead.

The seasoned coach also pointed out the unpredictable nature of the FA Cup, where upsets are common, particularly with lower-tier teams often pulling off surprises. “The FA Cup can be difficult because any team can cause an upset. Lower league teams come into the games believing they can win, so we need to stay focused,” he explained.

Currently leading the Ghana Premier League with 23 points, Manso will be hoping to replicate the same success in the FA Cup and build on his team’s impressive form.
