King Faisal FC won six matches in their opening nine games of the current Ghana Premier League season but the team has now lost six times in their last nine to close the first round of the season.
Monday’s defeat at Legon Cities was the sixth defeat of the Insha Allahu Boys in nine games. Big reverse.
King Faisal were hailed by many for their fine performances at the start of the season. They won big games against Aduana Stars in Dormaa, defeated Asante Kotoko in both the league and in the FA Cup and Ashanti Gold suffered the same fate.
But after losing at Eleven Wonders on Match-Day 12 , Faisal failed to bounce back at home against Karela United who won 2-0 in Kumasi on January 14th. That was the beginning of the King Faisal decline.
They have been sluggish since those consecutive defeats as Great Olympics and Hearts of Oak defeated the team of Nurudeen Amadu to take their losing streak to four between January 9th and January 30th. Losses have also come against Bechem United and Legon Cities.
But head coach Amadu is confident his team will bounce back in the second round much better.
“In the second round we will do even better than the first round. We have beefed up the team with some few additions and hopefully they are going to help us win more games in the second round” Nuru Amadu said after the defeat to Legon Cities on Monday.
