The Black Queens of Ghana have kicked off their training program in Senegal as they gear up for two international friendlies against the host nation.

The team arrived in Dakar for a nine-day training tour, which forms part of their preparation for the postponed 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) set to take place in Morocco later this year.

Head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren oversaw the team’s first training session on Thursday, April 3, with all 22 invited players participating fully.

Notably, the session included five players who were previously left out of the squad during the team’s February training camp in Morocco—Bjorkegren’s first official outing with the side.

The Black Queens are scheduled to play back-to-back friendlies against Senegal on April 5 and April 8, as they continue to fine-tune their squad and tactics ahead of the continental tournament.
