Ghana’s Black Queens have been paired with Mauritius in the second round of the African qualifying competition for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
The Black Queens will travel to Mauritius for the first leg on Thursday, October 8, 2026, with the return encounter scheduled to take place in Ghana on Tuesday, October 13.
Mauritius advanced to the second round after overcoming Djibouti 3-1 on aggregate in the preliminary stage.
They secured a 2-1 victory in the first leg at home before completing the job with a 1-0 win in the return fixture.
Ghana did not participate in the preliminary round after receiving a bye alongside 28 other countries. The Black Queens will therefore begin their Olympic qualification campaign at the second of five knockout stages.
The upcoming tie represents another opportunity for Ghana to pursue their first-ever qualification for the Olympic Games.
The Black Queens will need to eliminate Mauritius over the two legs to advance to the next stage and remain on course for a place at the Los Angeles Olympics.
Four more knockout rounds will remain after the Mauritius tie before Ghana can secure qualification for the 2028 Olympic Games.
