Giving back to society is the dream of every human being as our conscience and morals demand.
Black Queens deputy goalkeeper McCarthy Kerrie has donated football items to her current school, Kumasi Academy (KUMACA).
The 23-year-old final-year student and goalkeeper for Kumasi Sports Academy donated 2 sets of Jerseys, 3 footballs and 2 volleyballs to Kumasi Academy Senior High School.
Speaking to her teachers, she expressed her excitement to be a member of the school and the love and admiration she has for the school.
“I did this to show that I love and appreciate the KUMACA,” said McCarthy.
“I’m appealing to the old students not to turn their back to the school in terms of sports because it is through the school that they have gotten the opportunities in life.
“Parents should support their children who want to play football, they should encourage them and give them the necessary support they need,” added the 23-year-old Black Queens goalkeeper.
The headmaster, Mr Samuel Kwame Gato, received the items with love and happiness as he thanked her and praised her effort.
“We are going to make good use of the items,” said Mr Gato, the headmaster.
The headmaster let the students know that she (Kerrie) is a national asset. He thanked Kerrie for her kindness and he prayed that the good Lord would send her to the upper echelon of her football career.
The Sports master of the school said, “It’s wonderful and amazing seeing her at the top level and we appreciate what she has done for the school”.
The house mistress, Maame Dentaa Ayisi also showed her excitement about McCarthy and her donations.
“I’m so proud and happy with Kerrie, she’s humble and respectful,” said Maame Dentaa.
