Black Starlets head coach Stephen Frimpong Manso has highlighted the critical role of detailed talent identification in his efforts to rejuvenate Ghana’s U-17 national team.
“Screening alone will take us some time because the numbers are huge, but once we want it to be better this time, we need to do that,” Frimpong Manso stated.
“It doesn’t matter how long it takes us; we will try to make sure we get good materials and good preparation before we can achieve qualification.”
The coach is committed to uncovering top-tier talent from across the country, including players without clubs who may have been overlooked. This comprehensive strategy aims to address the shortcomings that have hindered the team, which has failed to qualify for the FIFA U-17 World Cup since 2017.
With Ghana’s U-17 team boasting a decorated history, including two World Cup triumphs, Frimpong Manso is determined to lay a strong foundation to restore their dominance on the international stage through meticulous scouting and preparation.
