Ghana and Nigeria battle for a place at the finals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup to be staged in Qatar from 21st November to 18th December later this year.
The Super Eagles are the second most represented African team at the FIFA World Cup with six appearances. Only Cameroon ( 7 appearances) have appeared at more Couped du Monde tournaments than Nigeria.
Whilst the Nigeria’s first World Cup finals participation was in 1994, Ghana, winners of four AFCON titles, had to wait to make their maiden appearance at the global stage in 2006.
The Black Stars went on to qualify for the 2010 and 2014 editions of the World Cup but failed to qualify for the tournament in Russia 2018.
The Super Eagles travel to Kumasi for the first leg of the play off to be played on March 25th at the Babayara sports stadium with the second leg happening in Abuja four days later.
