AS Monaco’s Ghanaian defender Mohammed Salisu made his mark on the pitch as the team secured a preseason 3-1 victory over Feyenoord on Wednesday evening.
The match took place at De Kuip Stadium in Rotterdam, with Salisu’s new club taking the lead through George Ilenikhena’s goal in the 29th-minute.
Feyenoord’s Luka Ivanusec managed to level the score in the 44th-minute, sending the two teams into halftime tied.
However, Monaco regained their advantage just 14 minutes into the second half, courtesy of a goal from Chilean defender Guillermo Maripan.
The victory was all but secured when Salisu scored his first goal for the club in the 67th-minute, assisted by Maripan.
This marks a significant milestone for the Ghanaian defender, who joined AS Monaco from Southampton last summer.
