Ghana captain Andre Ayew, has highlighted the importance of having some former senior players around the Black Stars team.
According to the Al-Sadd star, having such personalites close to th team, inspires and motivates the playing body,
Ayew, 33, said this when he posted a picture of former Black Stars defender, Samuel Osei Kuffour now management member ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
“Always good to have senior former players around the block. Great inspiration to us all,’ Ayew posted on Instagram.
Meanwhile, Ayew is hopeful of a successful World Cup tournament in Qatar later this year.
The Al Sadd SC in Qatar forward is anticipating a good tournament for the Ghanaians despite finding themselves in a tough group.
Despite being in on the group of deaths in the tournament, the Ghana skipper is optimistic about the chances of the 2010 FIFA World Cup quarter-finalist.
He admits that it is going to be a difficult tournament for Ghana but did not rule out the chances of the Black Stars.
“We have a chance, nobody sees us as favourites which are expected,” Aljazeera quoted Ayew as saying. “So, we’re not going into any of the matches as favourites but we’re there to fight and make an impact.
“No doubt it will be a very difficult group for every team and all we have to do is to be ready, focused, determined, full squad and have a bit of luck “If we have our full squad, we can seriously disrupt a lot of teams.
“I am not concerned because I know what Ghana is capable of.” Ayew concluded.
