Ghana winger Kamaldeen Sulemana would need a miraculous healing to be fit for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar after sustaining an ankle injury in training.

The Rennes talented attacker, was left out of the squad to face AEK Larnaca in the final Europa League group game on Thursday.

Speaking after the game, head coach of Rennes Bruno Genesio confirmed the Manchester United and Liverpool target, was injured and he is hoping the player is fit before the World Cup.

“He had pain in his ankle yesterday, he was injured. I hope for him that he will be fine for the World Cup.”

French journalist Thomas Rassouli, who was at the post game conference for the Rennes game, reports that the former FC Nordjaelland star, is unlikely not to play for Rennes again until after the World Cup in Qatar.

“With how things are looking, he might not be on the pitch for Rennes until after the World Cup.”

The 20-year-old suffered a back injury that kept him out for 74 days last season and has since struggled to regain his place in Rennes’ starting XI.

Sulemana has featured 14 times this season for Rennes, scoring once and providing two assists.

Ghana will play in the 2022 World Cup group H against Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea.
