General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Prosper Harrison Addo has called on Ghanaians to offer massive support to Black Stars coach, Chris Hughton to help him deliver his mandate.
The country’s football governing body, appointed the former Brighton and Newcastle United gaffer as manager for the Black Stars team following Otto Dado’s exit after the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
After previously working as a technical advisor for the team, Hughton was handed a 21-month contact by the Ghana Football Association.
Prosper Harrison Addo, believes Chris Hughton is the right man for the job having been part of the past technical team.
“Chris Hughton was part of the technical team that qualified Ghana for the World Cup so there was no need to bring in another person apart from him,” Addo told Asempa FM.
“We have all seen how he has started as Black Stars coach so let us all support and he will deliver,” he added.
Hughton, 64, has recorded a win and a draw in his first two games against Angola in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
The Black Stars will next play Madagascar in in June in their matchday five fixture of the 2023 Afcon qualifiers.
