Otto Addo has been officially appointed as the new head coach of the Ghana Black Stars as he has been given a long-term contract.
His appointment is already dividing opinions as many think the former Dortmund scouting coach doesn’t have what it takes to lead the Black Stars.
Former Ghana forward and Accra Hearts of Oak talented attacker, Charles Taylor in an interview on Akoma 87.9 FM has made it clear that Otto Addo cannot take Ghana to the promised land.
“I have not seen anything extraordinary that Otto Addo has done, taking pictures with Dortmund players doesn’t make you a coach,” said Taylor. The ex-Black Stars winger revealed that there’s nothing special in Otto Addo that warrants Ghana’s head coach job.
“He [Otto Addo] does not qualify to be our head coach. The strength of the team makes it difficult to appoint Otto Addo.
“With him and these players we have, Ghana cannot win the AFCON because he is duller than the players,” added the former Hearts of Oak forward.
Charles Taylor affirmed that Otto Addo is dull and also the current Ghana squad cannot win the 2025 AFCON to be played in Morocco.
Otto Addo is tasked to end Ghana’s 42-year wait for AFCON triumph and also qualify the team for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
