Ghana head coach Otto Addo again has maintained his authority by refusing incessant pleas from both politicians and some former footballers to included Andre Ayew in the latest Ghana squad for the upcoming international friendlies.

Ayew’s snub, thus, raising fresh questions about his future with the national team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Thr former Ghana international omitted the experienced forward from the squad announced for the upcoming international friendlies against Austria and Germany later this month.

Ayew, who currently plays for NAC Breda, had hoped to return to the national team after recently scoring his first goal in the Eredivisie for the Dutch club with a trademark header.

The 36-year-old has not featured for Ghana since the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, where his last appearance came against Mozambique.
