Black Stars technical team, headed by head coach Chris Hughton conducted a thorough pitch inspection at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, gearing up for Monday’s pre-Africa Cup of Nations friendly against Namibia.
Concerns over the pitch’s poor condition prompted the team to relocate training to the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex. Despite this decision, authorities have been diligently working to enhance the pitch for the upcoming game.
On Friday, Hughton, alongside other technical team members, visited the stadium to assess the field and guarantee it meets the required standards.
The friendly match against Namibia holds crucial importance for both teams as they prepare for the AFCON tournament. Ghana, positioned in Group B, is slated to face Cape Verde, Egypt, and Mozambique in the competition.
Post the friendly encounter, the Black Stars plan to spend an additional two days in Kumasi before their journey to Ivory Coast for the AFCON tournament.
The team is resolute in delivering a robust performance in the competition, and the friendly against Namibia presents an invaluable opportunity to fine-tune their preparations.
