Newly Appointed head coach of Ghana’s senior men’s team, The Black Stars, Chris Hughton has made a Solemn pledge to build a solid team capable of challenging delivering laurels for the nation.
According to the British-trained tactician, he will work to build a strong team although he can’t guarantee winning a trophy.
“No coach can sit here and guarantee a trophy but what I can guarantee is a strong team,” Hughton stated suring his unveiling ceremony in Kumasi on Monday, March 2023.
The experienced tactician takes over from former Ghanaian international Otto Addo with whom he worked as a technical adviser during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
He has been giving a 21-month contract by the Ghana Football Association with his immediate task being to qualify for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Hughton’s first assignment as Black Stars will be on home soil when Ghana play host to Angola in the 2023 AFCON qualifier at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi later this week.
