French Ligue 1 team Girondins Bordeaux left-back, Gideon Mensah in Ghana to begin preparation for this Friday’s all important FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Nigeria.
The forner West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) SC graduate has landed safely in Ghana and has joined his colleagues as Ghana open training camp this evening in Accra.
Mensah has been with the Ghana team in recent years and has been superb on occasions for the team when given the opportunity by the technical handlers of Ghana’s senior national team.
The 23-year-old Ghanaian international defender joined the French Ligue 1 outfit on loan from Austrian giant Red Bull Salzburg.
Mensah has played 17 League matches for Bordeaux in the 2021-22 French top-flight and has one assist to his name for the Club.
He’s in a good position to start the game on Friday and also in Abuja on Tuesday in the return leg since regular left-back Baba Abdul Rahman is out with injury.
