The race to sign Ghana star Mohammed Kudus is heating up, with Borussia Dortmund set to face competition from the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea for his signature.
Borussia Dortmund are interested in signing AFC Ajax star Mohammed Kudus, and it was reported last month that sporting director Sebastian Kehl has already held talks with his agent ahead of a potential transfer in the summer. But BILD are now claiming that following his impressive performances for Ghana at the FIFA World Cup, a number of English Premier League clubs have joined the race to sign the highly rated midfielder.
The tabloid adds that with Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle United and Manchester United now all in the race to sign Kudus, Borussia Dortmund could be priced out for a move for him.
One thing that could work in Borussia Dortmund’s favour is the fact that Otto Addo, who coached Ghana at the recently concluded World Cup, is part of Edin Terzic’s coaching staff. And the hope will be that the 47 year old can help convince Kudus to reject interest from the Premier League and join BVB.
Mohammed Kudus is enjoying an impressive breakthrough season with Ajax, and has scored ten goals in 21 appearances across all competitions for the Dutch side.
The former FC Nordjaelland star is primarily an attacking midfielder, but is also capable of playing in the false nine role. The former Nordsjaelland player has two and a half years left on his current contract with Ajax.
In addition to Kudus, Borussia Dortmund have also been linked with Daichi Kamada and Ellyes Skhiri in recent weeks. So it appears that bringing in midfield reinforcements is high on the club’s list of priorities for next summer.
