Brandon Thomas-Asante, the Coventry City forward, has described representing Ghana at the international level as a great honour and a lifelong dream fulfilled.
The England-born attacker made his debut for the Black Stars in July 2024 and has since featured seven times, scoring one goal. He says wearing the national jersey means more than football, as it connects him deeply to his family roots and Ghanaian heritage.
Thomas-Asante explains that receiving his first national team call-up was an emotional moment for both him and his parents. He acknowledges the responsibility that comes with wearing the Black Stars jersey, noting that it has been worn by some of Ghana’s greatest football legends over the years.
At club level, the former West Bromwich Albion player has been in fine form for Coventry City this season, scoring 10 goals and providing three assists in 17 matches. His strong performances have boosted his confidence and desire to make a bigger impact for the national team.
Although currently sidelined by injury, Thomas-Asante is focused on making a strong comeback and hopes to earn a place in Ghana’s squad for the 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
