Egypt Football Association has appointed Hossam Hassan as the new head coach for the Pharaohs.
Hossam Hassan, the former Egyptian International will be assisted by his twin brother, Ibrahim Hassan at the helm of the Pharoah’s coaching role.
Rui Vitoria was sacked on Sunday after failing to impress the Egyptian FA in the 2023 AFCON. It was rumoured Herve Renard was going to take over from Rui Vitoria but Egypt has opted to settle down with the Hassan brothers.
Hossan and Ibrahim Hassan, 57, were born and bred in Helwan, Cairo and will be tasked to qualify the Pharaohs for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and also win the 2025 AFCON.
Hossan Hassan won three AFCONS (1986,1998,2006) with Egypt. He has managed Zamalek, Ismaily, Al Masry, Al Ittihad Alexandria and Modern Future FC among others.
