Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has announced his final 26-man squad for Ghana’s preparations ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the international friendly against Wales in Cardiff.

The squad features a blend of experienced internationals and returning players who have impressed with their clubs during the season. The team began camping in Cardiff on May 25 and has been training at Dragon Park as part of preparations for the highly anticipated clash against Wales on June 2.

Among the major inclusions is defender Baba Abdul Rahman, who returns to the national team for the first time since September 2023. The PAOK left-back earned his recall after an impressive campaign in Greece, where he contributed both defensively and offensively throughout the season.

Winger Ernest Nuamah also makes a welcome return after spending more than a year on the sidelines due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury. Having regained full fitness, the Olympique Lyon player is expected to strengthen Ghana’s attacking options.

Defender Abdul Mumin, midfielder Augustine Boakye and defender Alidu Seidu are also back in the squad after overcoming injury setbacks and periods away from the national team.

The selected players are expected to use the Wales encounter as a key test ahead of the World Cup, where Ghana will compete in Group L. The Black Stars will open their campaign against Panama in Toronto before facing England in Boston and Croatia in Philadelphia.

The technical team believes the preparations in Cardiff will provide the ideal platform for the squad to build momentum and sharpen its performance ahead of football’s biggest tournament.
