Ghana midfielder Amidu Salifu has joined Malaysia top tier side Kelantan United FC on free transfer.
The former Fiorentina player last played for Petrolul in Romania.
Amidu is a player born in Sunyani, Ghana. He started his foreign football career on Italian soil by joining the Vicenza team in 2010. Soon after, Amidu moved to Fiorentina where he played with the team until 2020.
However, he only made a few appearances with Fiorentina as for majority of his career he has been loaned to lower league teams in Italy such as Catania, Modena, Perugia, Brescia and several other teams.
Apart from Italy, Amidu also has experience playing in Kuwait. While the last team he represented before migrating to Kelantan United was Petrolul Ploiesti in the Romanian League competition.
Based on the record in the international football information portal, Transfermarkt, Amidu has made 205 appearances and 3 goals in total so far.
In addition, Amidu has gained experience playing with his country’s back-up squad, Ghana Under 20.
Amidu’s participation at Kelantan has completed the four quotas of foreign players for Syamsul Saad’s squad.
Previously, Kelantan United had secured the services of Jacob Njoku and retained Masashi Motoyama and Shukei Fukai.
