Real Madrid have reportedly completed a move for Ivorian winger Yan Diomande after head coach José Mourinho played a key role in convincing the teenager to choose the Spanish giants over Paris Saint-Germain.
The 19-year-old attacker joins from RB Leipzig following a strong breakthrough season in Germany, where his performances attracted interest from several European giants, including PSG, Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City.
Reports indicate that Real Madrid reached an agreement in principle with Leipzig, with Diomande already agreeing personal terms on a long-term contract. The Ivorian was previously close to PSG, but Madrid’s late push and Mourinho’s influence reportedly changed the direction of the transfer.
The winger is viewed as part of Mourinho’s plans to refresh Real Madrid’s attack, with the club seeing him as a major future star capable of playing on either flank.
