Ghanaian forward Brian Brobbey showcased his talent with a goal and an assist as Ajax settled for a 2-2 draw against NEC Nijmegen in the Dutch Eredivisie.
The Dutch-born Ghanaian delivered a stellar performance before being substituted off in the 90th minute, making significant contributions to his team’s efforts on Sunday.
Brobbey wasted no time in making an impact, opening the scoring for Ajax just seven minutes into the game after connecting with a pass from Jaydon Banel. His goal provided Ajax with an early advantage heading into halftime.
Although NEC Nijmegen managed to equalize in the 61st minute with an own goal from Jorrel Hato, Brobbey once again played a pivotal role in restoring Ajax’s lead in the 79th minute. He provided the assist for Carlos Borges, who found the back of the net.
Despite Ajax’s efforts to secure victory, an injury-time goal from Roberto González dashed their hopes of claiming all three points at home.
Throughout the season, the 22-year-old striker has been a key figure for Ajax, tallying an impressive record of 17 goals and 5 assists in 30 games, solidifying his status as a vital asset for the team.
