Opoku Nti, former Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko, is urging the club to fortify its squad by securing the services of clinical strikers during the ongoing transfer window.
Despite a challenging start to the campaign, the Porcupine Warriors currently find themselves in the sixth position on the Ghana Premier League table, amassing 26 points.
In a conversation with Kessben FM, Opoku Nti expressed confidence in the team’s overall quality but emphasized the need for reinforcement in the striking department.
He stated, “I don’t think we need too many players but we need a clinical striker who can score one out of two chances. If Kotoko can get two of such strikers, it will help but as for the other departments, we have more players.”
Amidst this call for reinforcements, Bechem United winger Augustine Okrah has surfaced in transfer discussions linking him to Asante Kotoko. Okrah, who has been the linchpin for Bechem United, returned from an unsuccessful stint in Tanzania with Simba SC. His noteworthy contribution includes nine goals in the ongoing Ghana Premier League campaign.
As Kotoko approaches the final game of the first round of the season, facing Bofoakwa Tano away, the anticipation is high regarding potential signings that could enhance the team’s striking prowess and solidify their standing in the league.
The quest for strategic additions is indicative of the club’s commitment to elevating its performance and achieving success in the domestic football landscape.
