Chief Executive Officer of Bibiani GoldStars, Akwasi Adu, says the team is unfazed about playing their CAF Champions League home matches away from Bibiani.
The Miners have adopted the Accra Sports Stadium as their temporary home ground because Dun’s Park in Bibiani does not meet CAF requirements.
GoldStars will open their campaign on Saturday, September 20, when they face Algerian side JS Kabylie in the first leg of the preliminary round, with kick-off set for 3:00 p.m. GMT.
Akwasi Adu remains confident the venue change will not derail their plans:
“Playing away from home will not affect our performance in Africa. We have been playing on Ga land and had our pre-season in Accra. We know Vincent Atinga is an Accra guy, and we have received good support here,” he told Spoty FM.
He admitted the club will miss their home fans in Bibiani but stressed that the team is well prepared to perform in Accra.
GoldStars will travel for the second leg in Algeria on Friday, September 26.
