FC Samartex 1996, champions of the Ghana Premier League, have been drawn to face Victoria United FC of Cameroon in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League for the 2024-25 season.
This marks the first time Samartex will compete in the tournament, following their historic league title win.
The draw took place on July 11, 2024, at the CAF headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.
Samartex has chosen the Accra Sports Stadium as their home venue for the competition.
The preliminary round matches are scheduled for August, with the victor moving on to play either ASGNN of Niger or Moroccan giants Raja Club Athletic in the second round in September.
Eager to make a strong impression in their debut Champions League campaign, Samartex views this draw as a thrilling chance to showcase their talents against a tough Cameroonian opponent.
Samartex aims to secure a favorable result in the first leg before heading to Cameroon for the second leg.
