Asante Kotoko continued their preparations for the upcoming Democracy Cup against Hearts of Oak with a 3-2 win over lower-tier side Dabo Soccer Academy in a friendly match held at the Adako Jachie Training Ground on Thursday morning.
The Porcupine Warriors got off to a strong start, with trialist Elvis Kyei Baffour opening the scoring before Peter Amidu Acquah doubled their advantage. Sudanese striker AbdoelKareem Yagoub then sealed the deal with his goal, giving Kotoko a comfortable 3-0 lead.
Dabo Soccer Academy, however, refused to give up and managed to pull two goals back, but it was too little too late, as Kotoko held on for the win.
The friendly match serves as an important part of Kotoko’s preparation for the highly anticipated clash against Hearts of Oak on Wednesday, July 17, 2024.
Coach Ogum will be looking to build on this performance and get his team in top shape for the big match.
