• No East and Central African side recorded a win as Young Africans lost in Algeria, Simba drew at home against Asec Mimosas, Al Hilal were narrowly beaten in Angola and TP Mazembe also lost against Pyramids.
• The three Southern African teams recorded three wins as Sundowns thrashed Nouadhibou, Petro Atletico narrowly beat Al Hilal and Jwaneng Galaxy won against Wydad in Morocco.
