The 2023/24 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League intensifies this weekend as four heavyweight teams collide in the first leg semi-finals on Saturday, April 20.

Al Ahly (Egypt), TP Mazembe (DR Congo), Espérance Sportive Tunis (Tunisia), and Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa) remain in contention for Africa’s most prestigious club football trophy.

The semi-finals kick off on April 20, with the return leg slated for April 25-26, 2024.

It’s been a decade since TP Mazembe, former FIFA Club World Cup finalists, last reached the finals. They face a tough challenge against current champions Al Ahly of Egypt in Lubumbashi.

With a combined total of 21 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League titles among them, the competition is fierce. Defending champions Al Ahly lead with eleven titles, followed by Mazembe with five, ES Tunis with four, and Mamelodi Sundowns with one.

In Tunis, ES Tunis pursues their fifth title, welcoming Mamelodi Sundowns, whose 2016 triumph and recent African Football League (AFL) victory have bolstered their continental reputation.

The semi-final fixtures are as follows:

Saturday, April 20 (First Leg):

13:00 GMT | TP Mazembe vs Al Ahly SC

19:00 GMT | Espérance Sportive Tunis vs Mamelodi Sundowns

Friday, April 26 (Second Leg):

18:00 GMT | Mamelodi Sundowns vs Espérance Sportive Tunis

19:00 GMT | Al Ahly SC vs TP Mazembe

All four clubs aim for a spot in the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League Final, scheduled for May 18 (First Leg) and May 25, 2024 (Second Leg).
