1.Dreams FC on the verge of making history

The minnows in their first season in the CAF Confederation Cup have punched above their weight as they have defied all odds and made it to the quarter-finals. They are now on the brink of securing a semi-final berth with even a draw as they will also qualify if they don’t concede more than two goals.

At the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, Dreams FC have beaten Rivers United, Club Africain and Academica Lobito and Stade Malien may be the new victim to fall in Oseikrom. Karim Zito and his charges will make history if they can qualify for the semi-finals. John Antwi Duku, 31, is ready to send them through as his leadership must be saluted.

    2. Modern Future FC has an improbable task against Zamalek

Zizo’s 88th-minute penalty confirmed Zamalek’s 6th straight win against Future FC in the first leg. Zamalek has scored 13 goals and conceded 6 against their opponents, Future FC.

This is the battle ahead for Modern Future FC. How are they going to be mentally ready and turn the 2-1 first-leg scoreline around? The battle is huge as Zamalek has Zizo, Shikabala, Obama, Fatouh, Mathlouthi and Dunga available. It will be the biggest shock of the season if Modern Future FC secures qualification on Sunday.

      3. Rivers United must quadruple their away performances before they can eliminate USM Alger

Rivers United are bad travellers. They play like a Divison 5 side whenever they are away. With just two wins in their last 24 away games, the Nigerians have to play above themselves before they can eliminate USM. Travelling to North Africa is the most fearful job for the WAFU clubs as they have been beaten to a pulp in the last 4 years.

West African clubs have a poor and weak mentality against the North African clubs as they don’t have the self-confidence to hurt them especially when the game is in North Africa. Rivers United face a big task in Algiers as the defending champions are strong at home and ready to defend their title.

        4. RS Berkane faces the weakest side left in the last 8 of the CAF Confederation Cup

Abu Salim are the true definition of minnows and they are in the quarter-finals at a time their form has dipped. The Libyans are winless in seven consecutive games and travel to Morocco to face two times winners of the competition. Per power rankings, Abu Salim is the least-ranked team and must play above their standard to avoid a total massacre.

RS Berkane is in red-hot form as they are unbeaten in their last 5 games and occupy 3rd place in the Moroccan Botola. A victory is expected for Berkane in Morocco.
