Ghana’s U-20 national team delivered a strong performance to defeat defending champions Senegal 1-0 in their second Group C fixture at the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations on Monday evening.
Midfielder Emmanuel Mensah scored the only goal of the game in the 15th minute, latching onto a precise through pass from teammate Jerry Afriyie before calmly finishing past the Senegal goalkeeper.
The Black Satellites started the match with two changes to the lineup that drew 1-1 with DR Congo in their opener, with Abdul Hakim Sulemana and Andrews Adjabeng making way. The adjustments appeared to work, as the team played with more structure and intensity in the opening stages.
Ghana remained focused after taking the lead and delivered a disciplined first-half performance, frustrating the Senegalese side who struggled to break through.
