The young Atlas Lions of Morocco mesmerized Ghana’s Black Meteors at the ongoing 2023 CAF U-23 Championship on Tuesday evening in Rabat.
Morocco disgraced the Ghana team with a commanding display and blowing away the listless Ghanaian side on the night who didn’t know how to handle the north Africans.
The hosts wasted no time to impose themselves on the game with high pace and dominated the play with mouth-watering and eye-catching display leaving the Ghanaians in awe throughout the opening minutes of the match.
Morocco took an early lead thanks to perfectly placed Michael Richardson finish to put the hosts 1-0 up to disturb and disstabilized the Ghana team.
Ismael Saibari doubled Morocco’s lead brilliantly from close range after beating the offside trap with a chip over the goalkeeper.
Halfway through the opening 45 minutes of the match, Yanis Begraoui finished off a great team goal to make it three for Morocco with 15 minutes to the end of the first 45 minutes of the match.
Just before the end of the opening 45 minutes full of fireworks, Salim Adams got one back for Ghana via deflection to make it 3-1 at half time.
Few minutes after the break, captain fantastic Abdessamad Ezzalzouli added the fourth for Morocco with his third goal of the tournament.
Begraoui got his brace moments later to make it 5-1 to the hosts nation who were at the point cruising before to a comfortable win.
Ghana must beat Guinea in their final Group A game of the tournament on Friday or face early elimination.
