Hasaacas Ladies, Ghana Women’s Premier League champions, have suffered a setback in their quest for a spot in the CAF Women’s Champions League after a 3-0 defeat to Nigeria’s Edo Queens in their second game of the WAFU Zone B qualifiers.
The defeat has left the Ghanaian team with a challenging path ahead as they strive to advance to the next stage of the competition.
The team had hoped to secure their first win against Edo Queens after a goalless draw against Burkinabe side Omnisports Etincelle in their opening match. However, the Nigerian team proved too strong, scoring three goals over the course of the match to seal a decisive victory.
With the current standings not favouring them, Hasaacas Ladies face a tough task ahead as they strive to advance to the next stage of the competition. The team will now have to rely on AS Garde National in their final game to secure a spot in the next round.
The Ghanaian champions are hoping to make it to another edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League.
