The second day of matchday two of the 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League saw ASFAR defeat Huracanes by 1-0 with Safa Banouk’s first-half goal. ASFAR, the defending champion got their first win after losing to Ghana’s Ampem Darkoa in their first match.
Oumou Kone’s hattrick condemned Ampem Darkoa to an embarrassing 3-0 defeat against the Malian side AS Mande. The result is very surprising considering how their respective first games panned out.
AS Mande now tops the group with 4 points with Amoem Darkoa second with 3 points. In third place is ASFAR who has 3 points whilst bottom-placed team Huracanes of Equatorial Guinea has 1.
Ampem Darkoa will play against Huracanes whereas ASFAR and AS Mande will also square off. The winner takes all and the loser might be eliminated. Group B is now wide open.
