Cagliari manager Claudio Ranieri showered praise on Ibrahim Sulemana, a young talent from Ghana, for his outstanding performance against Hellas Verona in the Serie A match held on Monday.
Ranieri spoke highly of Sulemana’s consistent displays, emphasizing his determination, resilience, and unwavering work ethic.
“Sulemana knows how to give great consistency,” Ranieri remarked, highlighting the player’s qualities.
Despite facing an ankle injury setback, Sulemana’s quick recovery allowed him to make a significant impact, earning him crucial playing time of twenty minutes on the field.
“He hurt his ankle at the best moment but has recovered, and today, it seemed right to give him the final half hour,” Ranieri explained.
Ranieri’s decision to include Sulemana in the game proved fruitful when the midfielder scored a brilliant goal, securing a point for Cagliari in their 1-1 draw against Verona.
Ranieri’s admiration for Sulemana goes beyond his recent performance, as he disclosed his appreciation for the player’s potential, recalling an impressive display witnessed during Sulemana’s time at Verona.
Acknowledging Sulemana’s considerable room for growth, Ranieri expressed optimism about the player’s future development.
“I saw him last year in Verona, and he had impressed me. He has enormous room for improvement,” Ranieri added.
Sulemana continues to make strides in the Italian top-flight, having featured in 14 matches for Cagliari this season and scoring twice.
