Ghana’s Black Stars will take on Germany in an international friendly as part of preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The match is scheduled for Monday, March 30, 2026, and will be played in Stuttgart, with kickoff set for 8:45 pm.

The friendly will help both teams prepare for the World Cup, which will be hosted by Mexico, Canada, and the United States. Ghana is coached by Otto Addo, who was born in Hamburg and enjoyed a successful playing career in Germany. He won the Bundesliga title with Borussia Dortmund in 2002 and earned 15 caps for Ghana.

Germany head coach Julian Nagelsmann said he is excited about the match and praised Ghana’s style of play.

“We are looking forward to playing Otto’s team. Their strong transition play will give us a good idea of what to expect in our World Cup group match against Ivory Coast,” Nagelsmann said.

Black Stars coach Otto Addo also welcomed the opportunity to face one of the world’s top teams.

“This is a great chance for us to test ourselves against one of the best teams in the world. Germany are a strong side, and we are excited to play them in Stuttgart,” he said.

Ghana qualified comfortably for the 2026 World Cup as group winners and will compete in Group L alongside England, Croatia, and Panama.

The four-time African champions have faced Germany three times in the past. Germany won 6–1 in a friendly match in 1993 in Bochum. At the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, Germany won 1–0, while their meeting at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil ended in a 2–2 draw.

The upcoming friendly promises to be an exciting test for the Black Stars as they continue their preparations for the global showpiece.
