The trio who worked under the leadership of former coach Otto Addo, will still be part of the Black Stars technical staff for the upcoming summer World Cup.

Speaking at his unveiling at the Alisa Hotel, it was confirmed that key figures from the previous setup will be retained to support the new manager.

Among those staying on are assistant coach Desmond Offei, goalkeepers trainer Fatawu Dauda, and high-performance coach John Paintsil.

Queiroz, who has managed top sides such as Real Madrid CF, Manchester United, the Portugal national football team, and the Iran national football team, will lead Ghana into the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

The experienced coach boasts an impressive World Cup résumé, having guided the South Africa national football team to qualification for the 2002 FIFA World Cup, led Portugal to the knockout stage in 2010, and managed Iran at the 2014 and 2018 editions.

He has also held coaching roles with the Egypt national football team, Oman national football team, Japan national football team, and Qatar national football team.

Queiroz is expected to begin preparations immediately ahead of the tournament, which kicks off on June 11, 2026. Ghana will open their campaign against the Panama national football team on June 17 in Toronto, before facing the England national football team and the Croatia national football team in their remaining group matches.
