The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has announced that its ruling on the dispute involving Senegal, Morocco and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) over the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final is expected by the end of November 2026.
In an official update released on Monday, October 19, 2026, CAS disclosed that a hearing in the case involving the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF), CAF and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) was held behind closed doors at its headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland, on Thursday, October 8.
The panel of arbitrators subsequently commenced and continued its deliberations on the matter.
CAS explained that the arbitrators had decided to issue a comprehensive ruling, known as a CAS Award, which would include the legal grounds underpinning the decision.
According to the court, the process would require several weeks, with the final award expected at the end of November 2026.
The court also emphasised that only information released through its official communication channels should be treated as authoritative, adding that any announcement concerning the case would be published on its website.
The dispute has drawn attention across African football, with the forthcoming ruling expected to clarify the legal outcome of the case involving the three football governing bodies.
For now, Senegal, Morocco and CAF must await the final decision as the arbitration process continues.
