Ghana’s Black Galaxies booked a place in the next CHAN tournament with a sweet win over rivals, the Super Eagles of Nigeria in Abuja.
Ghana beat Nigeria 5-4 on penalties after a 2-2 aggregate score over two legs in the playoffs for a spot in the tournament next year.
Ghana won the first leg at the Cape Coast stadium last Sunday with Daniel Afriyie Barnieh and Seidu Suraj getting the goals in the first leg.
Nigeria left it late in the second leg as they scored two late goals to take the game to penalty shoot-outs.
Ghana scored full marks from the spot converting all five spot kicks with Nigeria falling once in the spot kicks to hand Ghana qualification to the tournament.
