RC Sporting Charleroi has officially secured the signature of Ghanaian forward Grejohn Kyei on a season-long loan from Standard Standard Liège with an option to buy included in the deal.
The announcement was made as the club looks to bolster its attacking options ahead of the new season.
The 29-year-old French-Ghanaian striker, who trained at Stade de Reims, brings a wealth of experience to Charleroi, having played 279 professional matches, scoring 62 goals and providing 25 assists throughout his career.
Kyei’s journey has seen him play for notable clubs including RC Lens, Swiss side Servette FC, and Ligue 1 club Clermont Foot 63 before his time at Standard Liège.
Charleroi’s interest in Kyei has been longstanding, with discussions dating back to 2018 and 2022. This time, the club successfully finalised the deal, which is expected to enhance their attacking capabilities. Standing at 1.87 meters, Kyei offers a different profile for Charleroi’s coach to utilize, and the club is optimistic about his ability to adapt to their playing style.
