Ghana Premier League legend Charles Taylor has lauded Hearts of Oak coach Didi Dramani, suggesting the tactician has the potential to emulate the success of club icon Jones Attuquayefio following Sunday’s famous Super Clash victory.
Dramani masterminded a disciplined 1-0 win over Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on February 15, 2026, ending a five-year wait for a league triumph in Kumasi. The Phobians impressively held onto their lead despite being reduced to ten men for a significant portion of the match, showcasing tactical awareness and composure.
Speaking to Angel TV, Taylor praised Dramani’s approach and urged the club to give him time to build on his success.
“I want Didi Dramani to know that I love him, and I will criticize him if he makes mistakes. But on Sunday, he showed that he is a very good coach—the way his team controlled the game even while a man down. Didi should be given the opportunity to work, and I believe he can be the next Attuquayefio,” Taylor said.
Jones Attuquayefio remains one of the most celebrated figures in Hearts’ history, having guided the club to four league titles, three FA Cups, a Ghana Super Cup, and back-to-back continental triumphs in 2000 and 2001.
Taylor’s remarks underline the growing recognition of Dramani’s tactical maturity and the belief that the current Hearts coach could leave a lasting legacy at the Accra-based club.
