With 23 appearances under their belt, the Black Stars have participated in 102 matches, showcasing their enduring commitment to continental football.
Scoring a total of 133 goals throughout their AFCON journey, Ghana has proven to be a formidable force on the pitch.
Out of the 102 matches, the Black Stars secured victory 54 times, demonstrating their prowess in the competition. Additionally, 21 matches concluded in a draw, while 27 saw the team face defeat.
The Black Stars last won the competition in 1982, their fourth title and have since then lost three finals. They lost 10 years after their last triumph to Ivory Coast on penalties and also gave away the trophy to Egypt in 2010. Ivory Coast repeated their glory against Ghana in 2015.
As the upcoming AFCON in January approaches, hosted in Ivory Coast, expectations are high for Ghana to make a significant impact, drawing upon their rich history and formidable track record in the tournament.
The tournament has been scheduled between January 13 through to February 11, 2024.
