Chelsea are reportedly considering a surprise move for Brighton & Hove Albion striker Danny Welbeck as the Blues look to add proven Premier League experience to their squad ahead of the new season.
According to The Athletic, the London club have identified the 35-year-old as a potential transfer target, with Brighton already aware of Chelsea’s interest. Although discussions are still in the early stages, there is growing optimism that a deal could materialise.
New manager Xabi Alonso is said to be a strong admirer of Welbeck, valuing not only the veteran forward’s attacking qualities but also his leadership and influence in the dressing room.
